FIELD VANTAGE
Artificial Lift Operators are more effective when they can visualize their operational data. With Field Vantage, you get well, field and operation-wide visualization, life cycle management, and prioritized alerts to enable efficient rig and crew deployments across your complete artificial lift operation.
Remote M&D allows engineers to go from reactive to proactive. We can mitigate failures before they happen thus optimizing responsible usage and upkeep for mutual business and environemental benefit.

OVERVIEW
I took over this project as lead UX designer from August 2013 until launch in December 2013. I managed the customer relationship plus IxD & VizD on the design and development side in an agile environment.
Field Vantage was one of the first products at GE Digital in the Asset Performance Management category, paving the way for Predix APM. The team worked off of an initial research effort led by Frog Design and with our in-house data scientists to create the overview pages for Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics.
On the surface, users are exposed to clean and intelligently designed data visualizations that enable fast and accurate operational decision making. However, the bulk of the UX challenge was in designing the complex onboarding and mapping service that would enable the data coming off of wells of differing make and model to be compared in a relevant way. Without this tag mapping and intuitive data nesting, none of the field, site, and well overview pages would have been possible. Tag mapping was the focus of my contribution.
Following the initial success of Field Vantage, I was brought back on to lead: Operations Assessment (expansion), Safire Explorer, guide efforts surrounding an Artificial Lift Selector Tool, an expansion of the product into different pump types, user roles and access levels, and research and preliminary designs to pilot new technology being developed in conjunction with Chevron.

Operators are more effective when they can visualize operational data.
With Field Vantage, you get well, field and operation-wide visualization, life cycle management and prioritized alerts to enable efficient rig and crew deployments across your complete artificial lift operation.
By taking a more proactive approach, operators can greatly reduce risk and variability.
Field Vantage helps you anticipate which equipment issues are likely to cause production deferments so you can minimize unplanned work-over, deploy resources proactively and minimize lost production.
Ensuring optimal pump flow is essential to meeting production targets.
Field Vantage’s advanced logic monitors and recommends operational set points to optimize production, reduce power usage and maximize run life.

Mapping the complexities of Field Vantage keeps the team on track, organized, and in alignment on a shared concept for the product

Provides an overview of field health and well functionality. Quickly narrow in only on those wells that are performing below standards.

Customizable widgets allow the user to build a dashboard specific to their needs.

Complexities of Tag Mapping functionality and user workflow as foundation for design

By drilling into a specific well the user can see real-time and historical operating stats, leave notes for other users, and view general well data.

Data is captured and stored for easy digestion and usage. The power is with the expert user to use this data in order to prevent future errors on not only this well, but other similar wells on the field.

Run criteria through Field Vantage Operations Assessment to get recommendations on which pump type will be the safest and most effective option to optimize output.
